day to night

Having a date night is something I look forward to. Being at home with my kids 24/7 is all it's cracked up to be, but sometimes momma and dad need a break. Usually, we just go out to dinner then come home. We hardly ever stay gone for the whole day and night. Mostly because I miss my kids so bad, and I don't want them to miss me...and putting them to bed is a ritual I cherish... I have trouble "letting go". Its something I have to work on. Dressing up to "go out" is fun for me. I like looking my best when I'm out with the husby. However, with one boy in school, homework, and two toddlers to take care of,  getting ready for a date doesn't exactly fit into the schedule. Having an outfit that can transition from day to night with little effort is key.
I love this dress from Tigerlily. It has beaded straps, and T-back, and the side synching adds a interesting twist to a simple white dress. I bought it a few years back, and only got to wear it once or twice. Not for lack of wanting to wear it, but because I've been pregnant back to back, and I just couldn't squeeze it on. During the day, I paired it with a jean jacket, and a cute pair of sandals...and for our date, I simply changed the jacket to a (faux) leather moto jacket, and some sexy black ankle strap heels. Oh! and a POP of red lipstick. (I'm a sucker for a good red lip) VOILA! Ready to roll.
I hope you like it!
